Dear Families of Future Lafayette Fourth Graders,
The fourth grade teachers, Dianne Wieland, Lynn Schwab, and Sheila McBeth are very excited about camp next fall. We want to extend an invitation to you to chaperone as a cabin leader for this two-night, three-day experience, so save the dates: October 8th to October 10th 2014.
We are going to a new facility called Cedar Springs Camp in Snohomish County. The cost is only $104 per child and $25 per chaperone. This is a much better fee for both our students and parents!
Camp is used to supplement our ecosystems science through outdoor education classes conducted by the camp staff. Camp is also a great opportunity for all of our fourth graders to bond at the beginning of the year. Mostly, it is just a lot of fun!
If your child has any food allergy or dietary challenges, the camp is happy to accommodate with an appropriate menu. If you have medical background and can chaperone, please consider volunteering as we need at least one doctor or nurse to coordinate medications. As an incentive, the “nurse” pays no chaperone fee.
The district’s policy now is that ALL chaperones are required to complete a background check that includes fingerprinting of anyone who is with students during a school function off campus. The fingerprint process takes about three weeks, so it is important if you are considering being a chaperone to have this done now or over the summer. The forms you will need are in the main office. Chaperone spots are filled on a first come, first served basis, so please sign up as soon as possible. If you are interested in participating in this fabulous event, or have any questions, please email one of us:
