A note from your 22/23 PTA President
Lafayette Leopard Families, this is our LAST PTA newsletter of the 22/23 school year! Appropriately similar to how it feels to raise kids, every day of this school year felt like an eternity and yet somehow, I blinked and it's over. Before we scatter to the winds of summertime activities, travel, work and BBQs, I wanted to send you all a sincere thank you for making this year at Lafayette pretty dang amazing.
We stumbled out of Covid restrictions last fall almost unaware of how much it had halted our progress as a community and certainly as an elementary school and PTA, but you all showed us how ready you were to build it back again and work together (together! in person!) towards truly cooperative collaboration for the education and growth of our children and families.
Thank you for showing up. Thank you for the effort, time, contributions and selflessness of volunteerism that so many of you offered up this past school year. Thank you for getting up in the morning and getting your kids to school! Usually dressed and usually fed and let's be honest, sometimes that's the biggest effort of all.
We did it. Believe me when I say that every single bit of it made a difference for the better.
Thank you to our incredible teachers, staff and school leadership who are so near and dear to my heart. They are difference makers as well and we are lucky to be in partnership with them.
And finally, thank you to the PTA leaders who made up the Board this year. Thank you for challenging me to be inclusive, understanding, flexible and productive this year. It has been my absolute pleasure to work with each of you.
Lafayette, I hope you all go do some fun things between now and September! I can't wait to see you back here in the fall, or hopefully around town before then.
With immense gratitude,
Christy Pudduck
