Native American Heritage Month

DEI

This month we recognize and honor American Indigenous communities & culture.

November is Native American Heritage Month in the United States, which is a celebration of traditions, languages, and stories of Native American, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and affiliated Island communities to ensure their rich histories and contributions continue to thrive with each passing generation. You can learn more about the history of this month by visiting the Native American Heritage Month website

Want to learn more?

We encourage you to start close to home and involve your entire family! Our own neighborhood in West Seattle is located on the unceded lands of the Duwamish Tribe, whom you can learn more about by visiting the Duwamish Tribe website and taking a family visit to the Duwamish Longhouse & Cultural Center.

You can further support the Duwamish Tribe by visiting the Duwamish Native Arts & Crafts Market on Nov 24-26 and engaging in grass roots efforts such as Real Rent Duwamish.
