Staff Appreciation Week: May 6 - 10

Let's Celebrate our Lafayette SUPERHEROES

Teacher and Staff appreciation week is May 6-10

We will be celebrating our teachers and staff and have included ways for you and your family to give them the appreciation they deserve! The PTA is also providing coffee and breakfast treats on Monday, lunch on Tuesday, snacks on Wednesday, flowers on Thursday and treats on Friday.

  • Monday, May 6 - Chalk Art on the Playground! The PTA will have chalk on the playground so students can write notes or draw pictures to celebrate their favorite teachers and all the staff at Lafayette. Let's cover the playground with displays of our gratitude for all the school staff does!

  • Tuesday, May 7 - Bring a Note for your Teacher! Have your student write a note to their classroom teacher. This can be a simple thank you, a favorite memory from the year, something they learned, or anything else that will show their teacher how much they are appreciated!

  • Wednesday, May 8 - High Five Day! This is a day to connect with all the staff outside the classroom. Encourage your students to high five the crossing guard or lunch staff! Tell a joke to a specialist or tutor! Show a little love to every Lafayette staff member you see that day and make sure they know that we know how much they put into the school every single day.

  • Thursday - Flower Power! Bring a flower or plant for your favorite teacher. This can be your classroom teacher or someone else on staff (or more than one staff member) but we want to encourage every student to bring something beautiful to a member of the Lafayette staff.

  • Friday - Wear RED to Show Our Love! We want to paint the school red (not literally) by having every student show up in red on Friday (parents, you can get in on this, as well - wear your red to drop off and pick up)! This is also the day we want room parents to bring in the teacher gift you are putting together.
