Yearbook Pre-Order Has Arrived!
Get ahead of the game by pre-ordering your 2023/2024 Lafayette Yearbook. They will be full color and will feature our favorite moments from this school year. Yearbooks are priced at $15.25 plus tax. Deadline to pre-order is May 1st. Pre-order your yearbooks and submit event photos today!
Winter MAP Testing
Students recently completed winter MAP testing. Results can be found on The Source. You can see the percentile in which your student performed in comparison to their peers nationally. Should you have concerns, it's a great time to partner with your teacher and determine plans for closing gaps and how you can best support at home. What are you wearing to the Walk on the Wild Side Auction on March 9th? Spots, stripes, ears and tails, feathers, blooms, or sleek scales - let your creativity run free and unleash your style of “jungle chic” when you Take a Walk on the Wild Side this March! Go wild from head to tail, or keep it tame with a pop of prints, a touch of botanicals - you can’t go wrong as long as you come with your Lafayette Leopard pride! Costume like it’s Carnivale or keep it simple with a leopard print tie, your go-to tropical shirt, or your favorite dress/outfit with a jungle-inspired accessory.
Lafayette Game Night with Meeples
Join us for our Second Family Game Night of the school year on Tuesday, February 27th @ 6:30-8:00pm! The AMAZING Meeples Games (a local game shop) will bring a bunch of games – come try them out and find your new favorite! Games for all ages will be available, as well as for groups small and large. This event is always a huge success, we hope you can make it!

February is Black History Month
Feb 1- March 1, 2024 Marks Black History Month.
February is Black History, though the accomplishments are worthy of daily celebration, there has been a designation to bring focus to the contributions of so many that have created change and impact on our world. Chili Potluck Cookoff
In an effort to help offset costs of the annual Lafayette 4th grader camping trip, the friends and family of the 4th graders are putting together an epic Chili Potluck Cookoff and bake sale at Ounces on February 4th from 12-3pm! Attendees will have the opportunity to sample all of the competitor’s best batch of chili and the chance to vote for their favorite!

This evening will be a WILD celebration of Lafayette Elementary families and community members coming together to support the Lafayette PTA. This year, we will come together for a dinner and live auction, taking time to celebrate together and enjoy an amazing dinner and cocktails, with a fantastic post-event party featuring live music and karaoke by Rock Bot.

Lafayette's Day at the Movies: Dec 14th
On Thursday, December 14th, our entire school will be treated to a movie at The Admiral Theatre to celebrate everyone's amazing accomplishments at this year's Move-a-thon! It's going to be a great event, but we're going to need a LOT of help getting kids safely to and from the theatre, serving refreshments, monitoring during the movie and tidying up after.
Winter Enrichment: 1/9 - 3/14
We're thrilled to get the Enrollment for Winter Enrichment underway! Registration opens at 9AM on December 6th. We have a variety of interesting classes to offer this season! Please register each child in only (1) class per session at this time. If more space becomes available, we will make further announcements.
SESSION DATES: January 9 - March 14th. NO CLASSES during Mid-Winter Break (Feb 19-23).
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED We cannot sustain this program without parent volunteers during the class sessions. We need (1) volunteer per class; spots are limited for this opportunity! Email the Enrichment Coordinators and claim your spot

Did you know that there are examples of biased words that are scattered throughout the English vocabulary? Biased language is made up of words or phrases that might make certain people or groups feel excluded or underrepresented. We can help create a more inclusive community within our school and neighborhood by ensuring the words we use don’t cause harm towards others unknowingly.
